In our interview conducted on Jul 20, 2024, Mrs. Chen, a lifelong resident of Fuzhou and cultural volunteer, shares her experiences living in the historic Sanfang Qixiang, where her family has resided for generations.

Mrs. Chen’s family has lived in the area for generations, and she shares warm memories of a childhood filled with neighborhood interactions and outdoor play. She reflects on how Sanfang Qixiang has shaped our lives, emphasizing its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. Her family’s residence in the former home of Zhang Jing, a notable historical figure, deepens our connection to this area. She recalls a close community, where neighbors often shared meals and stories.
陈阿姨回忆了充满邻里互动和户外玩耍的温馨童年时光。她谈到三坊七巷如何塑造了我们的生活，强调了这里丰富的文化遗产和历史意义。她的家族住在著名历史人物张经的故居中，这让我们与这个地区的联系更加深厚。她回忆起那时邻里间的和睦氛围，大家常常共享餐食和故事。
We also discuss the impact of relocation efforts on Sanfang Qixiang’s original residents. While development reduced the original population, Mrs. Chen’s family chose to remain in their home. She appreciates the improvements in heritage management, which focus on restoring buildings to their original appearance rather than replacing them.
