On Jun 18, 2024, we interviewed Mrs. Wu, a former resident of Sanfang Qixiang. She grew up on Anmin Alley in Sanfang Qixiang, and during the interview, she provided us with a wealth of information about the lives of the residents there in the last century.
我们于2024年6月18日采访了三坊七巷的前居民吴奶奶。吴奶奶从小在三坊七巷中的安民巷长大，在访谈中给我们提供了很多上世纪三坊七巷的居民生活状态相关的信息。
Mrs. Wu grew up in this historic neighborhood during the 1950s. She described her childhood home in Anmin Alley, where life centered around shared courtyards, stone slab streets, and communal water wells. The families in the neighborhood led close-knit lives, with children playing simple games together, neighbors supporting each other daily, and routines like morning waste collection.
吴奶奶跟我们分享了在20世纪50年代成长于这一历史街区的生动记忆。吴奶奶描述了她在安民巷的童年生活，生活围绕着共享的庭院、石板路和公共水井展开。街区的家庭关系密切，孩子们一起玩简单的游戏，邻里之间相互照应，每天早上还有收集排泄物的常规活动。
Mrs. Wu reflected on the significant changes in Sanfang Qixiang over time, remarking that modern renovations have standardized the area, transforming what were once unique homes and vibrant community spaces into uniform structures designed for tourism. While the restored buildings maintain their original exteriors, Mrs. Wu feels that the true spirit of the community has been lost, as most of the original residents have moved away, replaced by visitors and commercial establishments. She expressed a sense of nostalgia for the vibrant, interconnected life of her past and emphasized the importance of preserving not only the physical structures of Sanfang Qixiang but also the strong community spirit that once defined it.
吴奶奶回忆起三坊七巷的巨大变化，指出现代化的翻新工程让这一地区变得趋于标准化，将原本独特的家庭和充满活力的社区空间改造成了以旅游为主的统一建筑。虽然修复后的建筑外观依旧古朴，但吴奶奶认为，社区的真正精神已经消失，大部分原居民都搬离，取而代之的是游客和商业机构。她对过去那种充满活力和紧密联系的生活充满怀念，并强调不仅要保护三坊七巷的建筑，还要保留曾经定义这一地区的强烈社区精神。
